Mia Wasikowska took the plunge (for a role albeit) and cut off her hair, a decision reserved for the brave, daring, and what I guess would be considered ear-confident. A super-short Mia Farrow-esque cut really sets a girl apart in the crowd of long layers. I always think about what it would be like to not have a bunch of hair: to wash, or untangle, or blow in the wind--mainly there would be no hair to act as your shield. When people are considering a big hair change, they always ask themselves the same few questions: Would that require more of my time, and would less hair mean more effort? Will I still be pretty? Can I pull it off? No really, tell me the truth! Should I just do it? Are there any underlying hair attachment issues? Why do we become so attached to our hair? Whatever, it's just hair...or is it?

I'll be honest...this is the easiest hair I've EVER had.
Short hair is very manageable and easy, especially if you have a bit of texture to your hair. Styling is a fucking breeze with the right product.
Some people may have attachment issues, but I find that you have less to physically and psychologically hide behind when you have really short hair. It's nothing short of liberating.
NOW CUT IT! =P
Do it! Do it! Short hair would look so gorgeous on you! You have the perfect bone structure for it!
you would look like alice in wonderland too!! do it!
The above statement is entirely accurate. Another truth is that most guys really aren't into it (but the best guys love it). You have the jawline for it! DO IT!
However, growing it out is a fucking pain in the ass. Don't let anyone tell you it isn't.
I'm actually in the process of growing mine back out from a pixie cut. (That's always the worst part, by the way, the regrowth) I loved my short hair, and every time I look in the mirror now I consider chopping it all off again.
One thing I will say is that it feels very liberating, as InnyVinny said above. Just be prepared to feel extremely boyish when you dress down!
I definitely think you could pull it off.
I currently have long hair but often cut it short, and find it so 'liberating' and exciting! Because my hair is so straight it'd take a little more effort to get out the house (as in, at the moment I do nothing...), but your hair has texture, so you'd be fine in that department ;) I do find that it does highlight your features, so you'd look splendid with short hair. With short hair I felt I could wear something more feminine and yet still look funky...
Go for it, I say! ;)
xx
I had a pixie for years. There was a LOT of upkeep. I was getting trims every four weeks. And as other people point out, growing it out is brutal.
And of course, one look all the time.
Well, if you rememberrrr, I cut all my hair off last year. Honestly, I adored it - it takes a lot more upkeep to keep short hair looking good, though. More haircuts and such, I mean, which is why I'm letting mine grow back out a bit.
I'd say do it. Otherwise you'll always wonder...I feel like all of your posts point to needing a hair change, so take the plunge love. You'll rock it.
The cut is beautiful. It makes me want to chop off all of my bangs.
honestly... i did it. i had hair down to the middle of my back when i was in high school and CHOPPED IT ALL... i'm still trying to get it back =/
also, short hair is a lot more maintenance than one would think... maybe not daily, but many more visits to the salon. =(
plus. i would kill for your hair.
This is my best friend's philosophy on life:
"Do it before you regret it."
Of all people, I know you can pull it off.
(Mia is rocking is as well)
Mia looks amazing. You should go for it! You're only young once.
My Life in Style
So I totally thought that first picture WAS YOU!! I was so excited to see you in that cut and it looks just like you! CUT it, you're a star, you can pull it off for sure.
As someone who recently cut my waist-length hair complete off, I can say= it's worth doing. YOU will definitely still look pretty (perhaps prettier- your bone structure is so amazing, less hair will hilight your face!) and you will definitely feel a huge amount of relief when it comes to taking care of your hair. I style mine a lot more now than I did- but even so, it still takes 1/10 of the time (and shampoo/conditioner). Hair also grows back at an average rate of 1/2 inch per month. If you consider that, even if you hate it after a while, in 6 months you'll already be in bob-territory and after a year you'll have shoulder length hair. And look back 12 months ago-- a year is short as hell. So I say it's ALWAYS better to do it and see. I probably won't keep mine short for too long, but that feeling of wondering what it would look like is now quenched.
xo
DO IT
I got the exact cut you are considering a year and a half ago, loved it and never looked back. While I had it, I always looked chic, every outfit had more edge and the compliments were endless. I'm in the process of growing it back out now, and while it took a few trims over about 4 months to make sure I never ended up with a mullet, it was relatively easy to maintain and grow out.
Overall, it was one of the best style decisions I ever made, and who knows? Maybe I'll do it again someday, just for kicks...
I would not do it.

I definitely think you can pull it off that short, so when it comes to "will i still look pretty?" the answer is undoubtedly: YES!!!! but truthfully, i would be soooo nervous ;) but sometimes we just need a change so if you're contemplating it and you know it's gonna look great (cause it will!) DO IT!! xx plus...it'll grow back...it will :) xx
i did it once. never again. i missed my hair as if someone had taken away my pheromes.
I really love the first pic!
I think her manish short hair and girly lace dress are the best combination.
it actually helps to emphasis her delicate features. i LOVE short hair.
I could never do it, but I am sure you would still look gorgeous! xoxo
Just do it Krystal! You're hot, you'll still look hot. I did it last year for the Worlds Greatest Shave.. Best decision ever.
Yes, I imagine growing out will be a pain and although you need more salon visits, on a day to day styling basis you avoid annoying washing, drying, blow drying, styling, de-tangling blah blah. So much less hassle, esp for summer and surf!
Your fella will love you no matter what. You'll love you no matter what. It IS just hair. And if you don't like it, you'll deal.
i'd say that in twenty years, you'd be more sad if you didn't do daring things with your hair, than if you tried something and it didn't end up looking the absolute best. plus, you don't seem like the girl to play it safe 24/7! and that's a good thing! it's fun to go out on a crazy limb sometimes.
she's gorgeous! wish i looked like her! amazing post :)
xx
it is just hair ...and it will all grow back ...I did it when I was young and I'm glad because as we get older, our hair tends to soften the lines ;) ...I think you should do it.
Do it!!1 You can so pull it off, it coincides with your style perrrrrrfectly! If you're thinking about it, just give it a go!
Go for it! Like others have said, it's just hair :)
I spent 19 year with long hair always wanting to cut it off but being too afraid. I first went for a bob, then recently lopped it all off to something a little longer than a pixie. I must say it is very fantastic and almost no effort.
Just do it... There's always extensions to bring back the length.
I've had long.. really long hair all my life, and I loved it, still do.. but I got to the point of always looking exactly the same.. waivy messy hair day and night.. until receantly, without thinking it, decided to cut it all, really short.. a spontaneous thing.. and the result.. I love it and weirdly enough..everyone seems to like it better than my long hair too... I'd say you go for it, and if it doesn't work you can always get hair extensions, wear hats, cry everynight or wear wigs.. either way it will grow again eventually. Change is always good, at least it gets you out of the ordinary.
You have a great bone structure and I'm sure you would look great with short hair....but honestly I love your hair the way it is now!
i think if you are thinking about it this much.. which you obviously are... you should do it! i've chopped my hair extremely short two times and loved it. it is definitely a change and there might be moments when you miss being able to hide, but overall i think all women should cut there hair short at some point. it really does change your perspective. people especially women are attached to their hair. but you are confident and i have no doubt that you will rock it!

i think if you've been thinking about it this much, you should do it.....and here are some cold hard facts why!
-you have great bone structure to handle such a short do.
-if you're extremely nervous, get it cut as short as it makes you comfortable..usually within the week, you'll want it shorter(it's kind of addicting).
-i've had A LOT of hair styles in my day(from long layeres past my boobs to a classic audrey hepburn pixie) and i actually like the regrowth process. it makes for some creative never-seen-before hair do's.
-you get to play around with fun hair products that long hair usually doesn't require.
-the best part about short hair is that no matter what, you always look "put together" and somewhat "fancy" , because your hair is always done.
*** And no more ponytails!! i think they are the worst excuse for a hairstyle for people with long hair ***
Hope this Helped!!

hi krystal. i love it when a haircut changes a persons look- like with mia. but a brave cut like that needs its brave person to wear it with confidence- of course you got that confidence- but still there are that thing with what you dont have you want- and then the long wait to get long hair again. I dont neccesarily think you will have issues with this- but i do whenever i cut a bob..and that is not as short as this- BUT hair grows back- so if you really want to do it. go for it.
happy easter
xx ediot
if you did that you'd be my all-time hero.
besides the fact that you would look sexy and elf-like it's right what you said: we get too attached to things of no importance.
seriously it's HAIR.
we don't cry when cutting our fingernails, do we?
and as everyone said it would bring out your bone-structure so well.
if anyone can wear it, then it's you.
DO DO DO.

I
so about a year ago, i gave my hairdresser a picture of audrey hepburn from sabrina. i said, "i want this. no questions. just do it." i went from long hair (about halfway down my back) to pixie cut. not as traumatizing as you may think. i LOVE having short hair, and extreme cuts are awesome for people like me...who get bored easily haha.
so two months ago, i got bored again. what ELSE could i possibly do to my hair? i already chopped it all off, so i bleached it. walked in with brown hair, walked out with white...and recently some lavender highlights (walking out of fekkai on 5th with that hair usually raises some eyebrows).
anyway, my advice to you IS...do it b/c hair always grows back. however, be prepared to save up the $. I have to get it cut much more often, as it's more obvious when it grows. plus, short hair (and killer coloring) requires an awesome stylist...which usually indicates a higher price. most people splurge on shoes or bags. not me! i go for the expensive hair! anyway hope this helps. -taylz
I just shaved off a quarter of my hair (been wanting to for years) and I love it. I think you could 100% pull this off, you're gorgeous. Go for it! We need to experiment when we're young and beautiful.
I spent 22 years with long hair (as long as yours). One day I looked in the mirror and thought, this hair, this look does not define me. I was feeling the outside did not match the inside. I went to my stylist and asked him if he could anything with my hair what would he do? He said, short! pixie short! Long story short I dove in with both hands and feet and I LOVED IT! So easy to style..2 minutes...really. You just need to have it cut every 4-5 weeks which is a fair trade off for hair that you can style in 2 minutes. Another bonus is how 'free' you will feel. In my opinion it is very liberating and a feeling of being free. I feel most sexy with short hair. In addition I have never been asked out on so many dates in my life...true story.
I say dive in and do it! Its hair it will always grow, it does not define you. xo Mish
I went from waist length hair to pretty much the same haircut Mia Wasikowska has last year, and it's really excellent. You definitely stand out and a lot more people have complimented me on my hair since then. Sometimes I miss long hair when I see movies editorials ect with beautiful long hair, but I really love the short, androgynous look. You should go for it... hair always grows back and it's fun to change so drastically.
aw man i just get nervous thinking about someone cutting your hair!!!!
To be honest (and i guess all the previous commentaters where) You would look dead gorgouse in short hair, But the reality is, you probably be in a state of shock as soon as you sit down and those pair of silver knives come at yeah.
Then your mood will change to a more liberating refreshing feeling and you wont be able to stop smilling or touch your hair and your eye rythm to blink will be off.
You'll love how everyone at the salon tells you how great you are.....BUT
As soon as you get home open(or walk) into your closet you think, this isnt me? And you'll feel like you'd have to change your look all together and end up buying a new one, cuz new hair equals new and your old closet (although you still love it all) will feel a bit off.
I remember the first time my hair got cut and i was like i cant wear this anymore it looks of, like someone photoshoped a different girl onto me. You have such a hippie, vintage rocker feel....would you feel complete without the threads.
My haircut was so short and clean compared to my messier longer hair that i felt stupid wearing flannel and walking around with holes in my jeans....but eventually you'll grow into it.
So i think you should.....GOD I DONT KNOW!!! If you think you could handle what i just explained go for it, if you question one step of it....dont!
You have to really want it and know what to expect. It's touchy because hair is so important. But your spirit is even more so if your heart tells you to cut it, do it! It will feel great and you will be admired by most. Either way I know you'd look phenominal. I can tell, I know and I've seen girls with this haircut and you can rock it but also it's freeing in the sense that you no longer have to worry about your hair and just be zen.
Hope you make a decision soon and can't wait to see what you've done yo!
wow you're really obsesed having a short hair cut, aren't you ? it is so easy !

DOITDOITDOITDOITDOITDOIT!!!!!!!!!
I've had every length from almost down to my butt to like 4 cm long, and I can honestly say that shorter hair is easier. If you have a good hairdresser, you DO NOT have to get it cut every 4 weeks like some said here: you can let it grow for about 3 months and then get it cut supershort again. It's also untrue that you only have one hairstyle. I find that girls who have long hair, almost always wear their hair loose or in a ponytail, not that much variation either. With short hair, you can make it messy, keep it smooth, wear it mohawk-style etc etc. Also, when you choose my way of cutting-growing out-cutting, in those three months between cuts, you actually have a different haircut every two weeks or so. If your hair is that short, it can look completely different from one day to the next, even, because even the smallest growth makes a difference.
Growing out your hair isn't that bad either if you've had a good haircut, the only problem is the mullet effect. But I just ask my boyfriend to cut my hair a bit shorter in the neck region: you look like my kind of girl (the girl that doesn't need everything to look pristine and perfect and just goes with the flow), so you wouldn't have to go to the hairdressers to get your neckhair trimmed a bit.
And aside from all the technical/practical bullshit: it IS liberating. I felt much lighter, as if I was really placing myself in the world without all that hair as a shield between me and the rest. It highlights your features, your personality and your style. Every look looks more edgy and more polished with a short haircut. Lots of guys prefer long hair, but those are generally the guys without imagination. The guys that would prefer an abercrombie&fitch type of girl.
I love your long hair (especially without bangs, your face is way too perfect to cover up), but I recommend cutting your hair short before you get to that age where people think you cut it short because it is "practical". No soccermom short, just KICK ASS ROCKNROLL short. And it can be elegant short too.
haha sorry for the huge post but seriously, from one short haired girl to another: do it. I recently convinced my best friend to do it and she is a whole new person, when you let go of that connection with your long hair shield, you let go of so many hangups and issues. It's like : here I am, deal with it. It makes you more vulnerable and more badass at the same time.
aren't you a rockstar?
