I'm wearing the Dream dress thanks to Christine and UNIF Clothing, and it fully lives up to its name! This is the kind of piece that I scour second hand shops looking for, a perfect long-sleeved maxi in a beautiful print--and it's so comfortable. I'm a huge fan of what they're doing over at UNIF--and so is Lil Wayne, he wore their studded leather jacket in the Fire Flame remix video.

Everyone knows I love Steven Tyler, but my favorite comment came from The New York Times: "Krystal is beautiful and ambitious; one of her ambitions, however, seems to be to sleep with Steven Tyler." I guess if you're going to be put on blast, might as well have it be by the Times, go big or go home, we'll go with that. My point is Steven's American Idol debut happened tonight, and I thought it was a great change, I really liked what he brought to the mix. I think more wild ones should be on TV, I feel like I can pretty much predict what's going to happen, so this is refreshing. He is such sweet and generous person, just real--no pretenses. He is one of the gifted few that seem to always dwell in the youth of their existence, permanent vacation, permanent child. It's going to be interesting seeing how people react to criticism and praise from real idol's. Congrats on the new gig!

I'm such a fan of the multi-talented trio of sisters who chronicle their life on The Beckerman Bite Plate, I love how they mix designer and vintage (and sometimes candy-colored hair dye), so I was really excited to see how my pal Caillianne would wear the tee I did for Wiloh Ecosocial Apparel, and I loved the finished result (more here). You look beautiful! And check out that bag, that's one from the Beckerman collection, yep, they're amazing.

I wore this to a premiere party for some tv show, and since it was in Hollywood, I felt the need to go native and camp it up a bit, and at the very least wear some heels. I think one of the main reasons people love fashion so much is the transformative power in it, so with the right outfit, you can turn yourself into anything under the sun. This was taken on the way out of the hotel (wearing a vintage dress, Gucci shoes, and a Chanel bag).

One of these shots ended up in the book Style Diaries - click here to check it out on Amazon.com (more on this later). We took them in Nico's living room in New York after I became obsessed with her badass hat collection and that patched up jean skirt (wearing an Oscar de la Renta blazer, vintage men's wrangler shirt, some jeans, and my trusty Yves Saint Laurent Homme boots).

"Patricia," my mother scolded, "put a shirt on!"
"It's too hot," I moaned. "No one else has one on!"
"Hot or not, it's time you started wearing a shirt. You're about to become a young lady."
I protested vehemently and announced that I was never going to become anything but myself, that I was of the clan of Peter Pan
and we did not grow up. --excerpt from "Just Kids" by Patti Smith

I'm in the February 2011 issue of Teen Vogue in the Talking Fashion section under Tweet and Lowdown! What a great start to the New Year! It seems like a lot of friends are in this issue, very cool! They used a Tweet of me talking about Janet Jackson loving the Coach bag I designed; my friend Angelica ran into Miss Jackson at an event, and saw Angelica loyally sporting the K.S. fringed bag, and Janet told her she loved it and wanted one--so of course she had to call and tell me about her night. I just thought that was the coolest thing I'd ever heard, a complement like that coming from Pop Royalty. So now you know the whole story behind the Teen Vogue Tweet.
